Our Mission

Skill Tree Development strives to provide a different type of service when it comes to websites.

When working with a typical development company, or working with “do it yourself” site platforms (WordPress, Squarespace, etc), typically it’s assumed that you have a high technical skill (even if you don’t need to do coding specifically).

I wanted to start something focused on
honest website advice and that helps people truly
understand websites.

I’ve worked in the industry as a web developer for 10 years, and worked with many clients, and in general, while most people use websites and know how to navigate them, the majority of people do not know how to set up a website. I hear “I’m just not tech savvy”, or hear basic questions about websites.
Maybe you want to create a website, yourself, but are having trouble with the basics.
Maybe you have had a developer create a site in the past, but now struggle with maintaining the site or run into issues when using it.
Or maybe you need a website and have no idea where to start.

You just want a website, and you want it to be easy.

At Skill Tree Development, we strive to not just create a website for you, but show you how to use your website and give you the tools you need to excel at updating it.

I want to bridge the gap and help people who aren’t
“Technically Savvy”.

The web can be overwhelming… Creating a website shouldn’t be

Why “Skill Tree”?

The concept of “Skill Tree” comes from video games. In many games, you have a character you play as, and as you play the game, you “level up” and gain more skills so that you can tackle bigger monsters and get better at the game.

When you “level up”, you often get to pick new “skills” (sometimes called “talents”) to help improve your character. This is tracked on something called a “Skill Tree”.

The name Skill Tree resonated with us because we both play video games, but also want to help other people “level up” their skills with websites.
